The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for our patients by delivering compassionate, patient- centered service. This position is responsible for accurately registering patients, verifying insurance, obtaining required documentation, collecting applicable payments and ensuring a seamless registration experience. The representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional customer service during stressful and urgent situations.
As a Patient Access Representative, a typical day might include:
- Responsible for coordinating and facilitating registration and admissions by obtaining pertinent demographic information, collecting accurate insurance information authorizations to financially clear outpatient hospital accounts
- The ideal candidate must be detail oriented and promote patient satisfaction
- Service orientated background, good written and verbal communication skills and accurate typing ability
- Demonstrates initiative and motivation in role; proactively identifies and resolves problems in an appropriate manner and escalates issues to leadership when necessary
- Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude
- Works closely and professionally with nursing and ancillary departments to foster a team environment
- Participate in training through the development of training tools, presentations at department in-services or staff meetings, or through the training of registration staff outside the patient access department

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred:
- Medical insurance verification and authorization experience preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Patient Access experience preferred
- Knowledge in all aspects of registration, Non-federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care preferred
- Medical terminology and computer skills
- Computer skills required referring to the practical know how needed to operate computers, use software applications, and manage digital information effectively in professional settings
- Bilingual preferred
- Epic HB preferred
