Addison Group is partnering with a well-regarded healthcare facility located in a scenic mountain community to hire a Patient Access Representative. Job Description:
This role is responsible for greeting patients and supporting the registration process in a hospital emergency room. The Patient Access Representative ensures accurate data entry, verifies insurance coverage, and collaborates with medical staff to provide a smooth intake experience. Flexibility is essential as weekly schedules may vary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, gather registration details, and confirm demographic information
- Enter patient information into EMR systems (EPIC) accurately and efficiently
- Obtain insurance cards and IDs to verify patient identity
- Review insurance eligibility and benefit details
- Collect co-payments and refer patients to financial counseling when necessary
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, ABNs, MSPQs, and Medical Necessity guidelines
- Support billing department with administrative projects as needed
- Handle incoming calls, voicemails, and patient inquiries promptly
- Maintain professionalism in a high-volume, dynamic environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- At least 1 year of customer service experience required (12+ years for top pay consideration)
- Prior healthcare or hospital experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail
- Bilingual skills a plus
- Demonstrated stability in work history (no short-term roles preferred)
