Get to Know Your Team:
- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities:
- The Patient Access Rep processes patient information required for admittance, dismissal, and claims management/insurance billing.
- Reviews all upcoming patient appointments for insurance eligibility, referrals, and other issues that may impact reimbursement.
- Listens, answers, and devotes full attention to patients, medical professionals, and supervisor questions.
- Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients’ family members in a compassionate and kind manner.
- Enters, maintains, and reports all patient information into the EMR system.
- Answers inbound calls to the department.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice.
- Understanding and use of Electronic Health Record (EMR) or other billing systems.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree.
- Medical Office Administration Certification.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
