SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Patient Access Documentation Specialist is responsible for the timely accurate review routing and processing of incoming faxes received through centralized fax systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient access continuity of care and operational efficiency by appropriately categorizing faxed information initiating workflows and collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to resolve issues and prevent delays in care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare administrative patient access medical office or call center environment.
Experience working with fax management systems electronic health records or document management platforms.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates or Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Business Administration or a related field.
Experience in ambulatory healthcare patient access centralized scheduling or referral management.
Familiarity with Epic or similar EHR systems.
