Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST
Hours Per Week: 40 Hours

The Pathology Assistant works under the supervision and direction of a Pathologist to support pathology laboratory operations through gross examination, dissection, specimen preparation, autopsy assistance, anatomical photography, and pathology education activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong grossing and dissection experience, pathology laboratory expertise, and ASCP-PA certification. This role supports surgical pathology workflows, specimen processing, pathology education, and research initiatives within a hospital pathology laboratory environment.

Must-Have Qualifications

• ASCP-PA Certification (Required)
• Minimum 2 years of Pathology Assistant experience
• Strong gross dissection and specimen preparation experience
• Experience in surgical pathology laboratory environment
• Knowledge of:
  • Gross pathology
  • Human anatomy and physiology
  • Autopsy procedures
  • Surgical specimen handling
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work onsite in Athens, GA

• Experience supporting pathology education or training programs
• Research and bio-specimen banking experience
