Surgical Pathologist Day Shift

Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified Surgical Pathologist to join a growing pathology practice in Southwest Florida. This role offers a balanced workload, weekday schedule, and the opportunity to practice high-quality surgical pathology across both a headquarters reference laboratory and a partner community health system.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform frozen sections as required
- Provide gross and microscopic diagnostic interpretation of surgical pathology and cytology specimens
- Dictate, review, and electronically release finalized cases
- Interpret high-volume immunohistochemistry (IHC) with emphasis on predictive and prognostic biomarkers, including:
PD-L1, HER2, ER, PR, c-MET, MMR, FOLR1, Claudin - Incorporate molecular and genetic data into diagnostic decision-making when appropriate
- Participate in medical director and CLIA 88 responsibilities for anatomic and clinical laboratories
- Support daily laboratory operations, including consultations and client communication
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) initiatives
- Collaborate with pathologists, technologists, clinicians, and administrative teams
- Build strong relationships with referring physicians and ensure excellent turnaround time (TAT)
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
- Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology (general or subspecialty) strongly preferred
- 2+ years of post-fellowship experience preferred, especially in:
- Gynecologic Pathology
- Thoracic Pathology
- Head & Neck Pathology
- Active or eligible Florida medical license
- Additional licensure in New York and/or Texas a plus
- Ability to meet CLIA 88 requirements if applicable
