Pathologists' Assistant

Job Title: Pathologists’ Assistant 
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: 13, Start date is June 22nd
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Pay: max GSAs. Would also receive a round trip airfare/rental car OR mileage reimbursement and vehicle stipend.

Qualifications:  

• Master’s degree from a NAACLS-accredited PA program. 
• ASCP PA certification (or eligibility with certification within 6 months). 
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or reference lab preferred. 
• Familiarity with Epic Beaker LIS and voice dictation systems a plus. 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed gross dissection and description of a wide range of surgical specimens 
• Grossing capabilities to include breast, and other complex caseload
• Photograph gross specimens and maintain image records for clinical and teaching purposes. 
• Ensure specimen integrity and accurate labeling throughout the process. 
• Collaborate with pathology residents, medical students, and histotechnologists. 
• Participate in departmental QA/QC activities to maintain compliance with CAP standards.
