What Youll Do
- Prepare and dissect large/complex and small biopsy specimens
- Perform gross examination and tissue dissection
- Process tissues for histological analysis, including sectioning
- Manage specimen receipt, labeling, and fixation
- Conduct tumor triage and review patient clinical information (scans, x-rays, labs)
- Assist with autopsies, including adult and fetal cases
- Ensure proper documentation and specimen accessioning
- Support histological procedures, including frozen sectioning and specimen photography
What You Need
- Active ASCP-PA certification required
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting
- Experience with gross and microscopic specimen handling, including autopsies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Skilled in tissue processing, dissection, and histology techniques
- Preferred: experience with specimen accessioning, frozen sections, postmortem exams, and Masters degree
