LDRM is looking for a Patent Clerk to work in Alexandria, VA. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!


Responsibilities


+ Possess a general understanding of USPTO patent and application filing systems and processing/verification requirements.

+ Ability to operate OC System and network printers/copy machines associated with printing and mailing office actions.

+ Carry out light warehousing and courier duties to include loading/unloading of supplies/patent documents; transporting files and related documents by hand or via mail cart; and shelving and retrieving documents.

+ Identify, sort and mail electronic and paper office actions and associated materials.

+ File, log, store and retrieve artifact folders.

+ Sort paper office action print outs by priority to mail office actions.

+ Check office actions for completeness of the mailing and identify discrepancies for corrections

+ Maintain a written daily log for all mailing errors to be returned to Government for correction.

+ Assist team leader in related assigned duties and ability to backup when needed.

+ Follow safety, fire and health regulations established by the Government and company’s safety program.

+ Willingness to assist with alternate work schedules to absorb increased workloads or special projects.

+ Refer Government representatives and inspectors, to a more senior level worker to resolve questions or problems.

+ Performs duties of File Clerk I/Processing Clerk I in a more productive and independent manner.

+ Keep work areas neat and clean.

+ Act in a courteous and respectful manner towards other team members.

+ Support senior level team members and management staff with data collection and reporting.

+ Will be cross trained to other functions as necessary.


Qualifications


Mandatory Qualifications:


+ Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a government background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

+ One (1) year of clerical experience.

+ High School diploma/GED.

+ Proficiency in English: speaking, reading and writing are mandatory.

+ Proficiency in basic math.

+ Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and provide on the job training to others.

+ Computer literate.

+ Ability to retrieve and respond to government and/or internal e-mail requests.

+ This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Alexandria, VA.


Desirable Qualifications:


+ Familiarity with USPTO systems and procedures.

+ Extensive clerical experience.

+ High school graduate with advanced academic or technical training.
