Service Parts Catalog Analyst

  • Location: Farmington Hills, MI
  • Work Environment: Hybrid — Monday–Thursday onsite, Friday remote
  • Required Hours:7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Employment Type:W2 Contract (Long-Term)
  • Pay Rate:$31 per hour

Role Overview

Epitec is seeking a Service Parts Catalog Analyst to support service parts data creation, maintenance, and accuracy for a leading global automotive manufacturer. This role partners closely with engineering, supply chain, aftersales, and dealer-facing teams to ensure accurate parts catalog data and optimal service part definitions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish service parts data in the FAST 2000 parts catalog authoring system

  • Maintain accuracy of the Service Parts Master File (PMF) within the enterprise parts system

  • Coordinate across engineering, parts supply, service, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, marketing, vendors, and pricing

  • Reconcile conflicting inputs to determine whether parts are sold as assemblies or individual components

  • Investigate and resolve catalog inquiries from Dealer Parts Information Center (DPIC), export customers, and distribution centers

  • Research CAD data, engineering drawings, technical standards, illustrations, and photos

  • Prepare materials to support stock validation at Parts Distribution Centers (PDCs)

  • Apply correct coding for restrictions, supersessions, and service files

  • Evaluate supersession strategies by balancing customer satisfaction, cost, and business impact

  • Support assigned commodity areas and serve as backup coverage when needed


A Day in the Life

  • Review new model service parts and ongoing engineering changes

  • Interpret CAD data and technical references to optimize catalog illustrations

  • Resolve missing, incorrect, or conflicting catalog data accurately and efficiently

  • Respond to technical inquiries with clear, concise, actionable solutions

  • Support parts complexity reduction initiatives and consult leadership on complex decisions


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in automotive parts sales, service, or marketing

  • Strong understanding of automotive service parts nomenclature and aftersales distribution

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to synthesize conflicting technical information and recommend solutions

  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PC-based systems

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
