Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee the inventory, ordering, and distribution of parts for our service operations. The Parts Manager will be responsible for managing parts inventory, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient use of parts within the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of parts management and logistics.
Core Functions
Maintain accurate inventory records for all parts, ensuring appropriate stock levels to support operational needs while minimizing excess inventory.
Order parts from suppliers, monitor lead times, and ensure timely delivery to avoid operational delays.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, including negotiating pricing, terms, and lead times to ensure the best value for the company.
Supervise and train a team of parts and warehouse personnel, ensuring effective and efficient workflow.
Lead and conduct physical inventory counts, audits, and Annual Physical Inventory
Create, maintain, and enforce inventory control processes and ensure all procedures are consistently followed.
Ensure that parts are properly stored, labeled, and organized for quick access and accurate retrieval.
Manage the issuance and distribution of parts to internal departments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation of parts used.
Oversee receiving, inspection, verification, and proper storage of all incoming parts.
Maintain detailed records of all parts transactions and prepare reports on stock levels, usage, and inventory turnover.
Ensure that parts are in good working condition and promptly report any discrepancies, shortages, or damage.
Ensure that all inventory procedures comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
Ensure quotes are completed within 48 hours to meet customer needs and expectations.
Maintain effective inventory control processes for both internal and external customers.
Monitor and control parts margin for internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent . Associate’s degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 years of experience in parts management or related role, preferably in the heavy-duty trailer sector.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Leadership and team management experience.
Ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform duties that require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods.
