CBIZ is seeking a Senior Attorney or Partner for its multi-location Long Island client. This role requires a portable book of business and 10+ years of experience in trusts and estates, with a strong focus on estate litigation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with extensive Surrogate’s Court experience who can independently manage a high-volume caseload while delivering high-quality client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage estate litigation matters including probate petitions, 1404 hearings, depositions, accountings, kinship proceedings, and court appearances
- Develop and execute litigation and settlement strategies (strong SCPA knowledge required)
- Conduct client meetings, witness preparation, and trial preparation
- Perform legal research and stay current on trusts and estates developments
- Maintain organized case files and documentation
- Oversee and collaborate with attorneys and support staff
- Contribute to business development and client growth initiatives
Qualifications
- JD and admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing)
- 10+ years of trusts and estates experience, including high-net-worth and succession planning
- Proven estate litigation experience required
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines
