Position Details Position Information Position Title Part Time Technical Theatre Instructor Position Category Faculty Position Status 10 Month FLSA Exempt Advertised Salary $1008 per lecture hour $960 per lab hour Department Theater Arts Working Hours Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9am - 10:50am General Description SUNY Niagara has a need for a part-time Technical Theatre Instructor within the Arts, Humanities & Social Services division. The instructor will contribute to advancing the program through effective teaching, collaboration, and engagement with the college and community.

Responsibilities • Instructing students in the Technical Aspects of Stage Production, including design, construction, safety, sound, and lighting. • Involved in set design and construction of on-campus productions. • Adhering to typical attendance and college grading policies. • Classes are held at SUNY Niagaras main campus in Sanborn, NY.

Openings In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Typical Work Activities • Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon. • Track attendance. • Complete census reports. • Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester. • Report grades at the conclusion of the semester.

Essential Functions • Ability to effectively teach and support a diverse student population. • Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written formats. • Ability to advise students regarding coursework transfer options and career pathways. • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners. • Ability to develop and deliver instructional materials using educational technology. • Ability to assess student learning and maintain accurate records. • Ability to participate actively in departmental and college activities. • Ability to perform the physical and technological duties required of the position.

Required Qualifications • Proven field experience as a theatre technician. • 3 years of experience in an educational institution.

Desirable Qualifications • A degree in technical theatre education or a related field. • Technical theatre background. • Licenses and certifications.
