Position Overview
The Part-Time Student Support Specialist assists with tasks associated with the delivery of services to students enrolled in Adult Education programs. What you will be doing
• Provides students with admission and registration information • Screens and follows up on student-related problems for appropriate referral and problem resolution • Assists GED and ESOL students seeking financial aid • Provides students with updates on their placement status, classes, schedule, and fees • Participates in recruitment activities and workshops • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience. All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives, policies and procedures. Possess good customer service skills. Knowledge of class offerings and all departments within Continuing Education and Professional Development department. Possess superior ability to learn program details. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to project a positive image of the College and its programs. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
