Provides excellent customer service in a pet (Dog & Cat) retail and service environment, implementing Healthy Spot's "WE CARE" philosophy in all interactions.
Duties
- Provides excellent customer service in a pet (Dog & Cat) retail and service environment, applying principles of the WE CARE philosophy during each customer interaction, including purchases, use of gift cards, exchanges, store credits, special orders, holding merchandise for customers, and returns.
- Processes cash, debit, credit, exchange, and gift card transactions accurately and according to organizational policies for both sales and services.
- Communicates knowledgeably about and correctly applies discounts, sales, and promotions in primary and other departments.
- Communicates knowledgeably about and recommends Healthy Rewards and Round Up during sales transactions.
- Greets all customers upon entering the store and greets regular customers and their dog(s) by name.
- Communicates knowledgeably about pet nutrition, food conversion, products and merchandise, salon, grooming and daycare services, dental training, and other ancillary and seasonal services offered within Healthy Spot stores.
- Engages customers to learn about their pets and pet needs.
- Enters customer information into the computer system during sales transactions.
- Responsible for meeting various established recurrent and intermittent sales productivity goals and objectives and providing efficient and effective service in all performance areas.
- Assure customers that they can navigate the store and find desired products and/or services. Suggest appropriate "add-on" products and services.
- Receives merchandise correctly and accurately, correctly implements "first-in-first-out" rotation, and handles damaged merchandise promptly.
- Assures the retail environment is safe, clean, and free of hazards.
- Completes assignments from the task board as directed.
- Completes opening or closing checklists as appropriate and directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the manager, as needed.

- Demonstrated customer service skills: friendly, approachable, cooperative, flexible, and able to shift focus as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to perform computations, handle cash, and count back change during cash transactions.
- Able to professionally and effectively interact and communicate, verbally and in writing, with staff, customers, and the public from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, prioritize and accurately perform multiple tasks, and efficiently meet deadlines and changing priorities.
- Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.

- Constant visual stimulation, including close vision (up to 100%).
- Constant standing (up to 100%).

- Frequent squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, and twisting (up to 60%).
- Frequent lifting of store merchandise, up to 30 pounds without assistance (up to 60%)
