Patient Family Service Specialist Job in Aurora, CO
Sigma, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused Patient Family Service Specialist to support Children's Hospital in Aurora, CO. This position plays an essential role in delivering an exceptional patient and family experience by providing high-quality customer service to patients, families, and visitors while ensuring a safe and efficient visitor management process.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and demonstrate the ability to professionally manage challenging situations while supporting the hospital's commitment to outstanding patient and family service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Perform visitor check-in and health screening procedures.
- Utilize the Visitor Management System to verify visitor status and issue visitor badges.
- Access Epic to confirm visitor authorization and approval.
- Provide wayfinding assistance throughout the hospital campus.
- Professionally de-escalate difficult situations involving patients, visitors, and family members.
- Maintain the efficient operation of the hospital's Visitor Management Program.
- Support a positive patient and family experience across the organization.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure visitors are appropriately screened and directed.
- Provide on-call support as needed with at least one day's advance notice.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of administrative or clerical experience in a customer service environment.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Comfortable interacting with patients, families, and visitors.

- No licensure or certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field (may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis).
- Experience working in healthcare, hospital, hospitality, or other patient-facing environments.
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Experience supporting patient and family experience initiatives.
- Familiarity with Epic and visitor management systems is a plus.
