Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Clayton State University invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer position in Computer Science and Information Technology, beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach 3-6 credit hours courses.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold an earned masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in computer science and/or information technology. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching a variety of undergraduate courses in these disciplines and must be eligible for employment in the United States at the time of appointment. College-level teaching experience is strongly desired, along with familiarity with mainstream technologies and instructional tools used in computing education. This position is also well-suited for candidates who are ABD in an appropriate field.

Preferred Qualifications

Industry credentials such as Cisco CCNA and/or CISSP certification, and/or recent industry experience are desirable.

Each applicant must submit an application with the following documents: 1) a letter of interest summarizing the applicants qualifications, 2) a current curriculum vita, 3) a statement of teaching philosophy, 4) copies of transcripts for all college and graduate coursework (official transcripts are required upon hire), 5) at least three letters of recommendation, two of which must address the candidates teaching ability.
