Els for Autism Foundation based in Jupiter Florida envisions a world of limitless possibilities for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
This Part-Time (20 hours per week) position will collaboratewithhighly skilledprofessionalsandhighly experiencedstafftodevelop,plan,implement,andassessprogramsfortransition aged youthandadultswithautismspectrumdisorderandotherdevelopmentaldisabilities.
Responsibilities:
Instruction:
- Creategroupingsand natural supportsystems to fitthe needs of each participant(i.e.,employeementors, pairs, one-on-one)
- Utilize explicit and systematicinstruction(i.e.,preview, breaking downtasks,building on skills,review)
- Utilizestrategies based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) withininstructional and behavior managementprocedures
- Developvisualand communication supports for program participants and complete a referralfor clinical services(BCBA, SLP, MHC) and support as needed
- Utilize a system of least prompts and fadingstrategiesduring skill acquisition,practice, and maintenance
Planning:
- Conduct an environmentalassessmentofworksite and developvisualsupportsforparticipantsprior to their first day of employment
- Collaborate withsupervisor/Program Director to conduct applicant interviews, situationalassessments, and orientation
Collaboration:
- Collaborate withhostworksitestaff and management to ensure program fidelity
- Providesensitivity training to employerpartners and staff to ensuretheylearneffectivestrategiesin supporting employees with autism and relateddevelopmentaldisabilities prior to client start
- Work with employers and worksitestaff to ensure they take responsibility for onboarding, supervision, provision of accommodations, and ongoing communication withclient/employee
- Serve as a liaisonbetween participants, theirfamilies, Els forAutismstaff, and hostworksite
Job Placement:
- Activelyassistin acquiring paidemploymentleadsin the community
- Activelyassist in matching participants to available positionsinthe community, asdriven by theiremploymentgoalstatedintheirIndividualized Plan forEmployment
- Assistparticipantsin resume writing, completing job applications,interviews, orientation, and on-the-job support.

- Display a high standard of integrity and conduct while serving as a representative and ambassador for Els for Autism, its mission, and the vision of the Els family.
Work Environment:
- Thisjob is 20 hours per week - typically weekdays with an occasional need for evening and weekend work in support of clients.
- Includes commutingbetweenworksitelocations in support of clients.
- Office work is completed on campus and may include shared office space.
- May be responsible for transporting clients as needed to community-based locations using a company van.
Qualifications:
- Associate'sDegreeinEducation,Rehabilitation, Applied BehaviorAnalysis or relatedfield
- Minimum 2 years of experienceteaching/coachingindividuals with ASD and other developmentaldisabilities
- ValidFlorida Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Experience securing paidemploymentopportunities for adults withdevelopmentaldisabilities
