This is a Part-Time Temporary position for the Alvin College Summer Program.
Position Dates: May 18, 2026 - July 9, 2026
Program Dates: June 1, 2026 - July 9, 2026
Program Hours: 9:00 am - 11:00 am Monday - Thursday

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends as well as possible off-site travel.
Requires the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications within (30) days of hire.
Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency." All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES) in order to be considered for a faculty position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Upward Bound is a Federally funded TRiO program whose purpose is to identify, select, and assist high school students with academic potential. The Summer Instructor develops a curriculum in their area of expertise that will provide instruction as well as enrichment experiences for students. Instructors are expected to provide a positive learning environment, serve as a positive role model, and be supportive of the Upward Bound objectives. The instructors report to the Director, Upward Bound and is limited to no more than 19 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent typically works in an office/classroom environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office/classroom equipment needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office/classroom. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Do you have a Bachelors degree in Math or related field from a regionally accredited college or university?

Do you have teaching experience at the high school level?

Do you have working knowledge of Blackboard course management system?

Are you bilingual in English/Spanish? If yes, be prepared to answer questions in Spanish.
