Teaching assignments may be during the day including early morning evening or weekend and could include classes taught at any of the College campuses online or remotely.Hold at least one scheduled office hour per class per week for student help sessions and program assistance.Utilize College tools and resources including the Learning Management System and Disability Services software to support teaching activities as appropriate.Participate in course assessment.Perform other essential job functions as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.Department SpecificTeach CIS courses using Canvas and other technology tools such as Cengage. These could include CIS 120 CIS 131 or other classes depending upon instructor skills.Work with students to resolve technical problems.Work with the department chair to ensure course goals are successfully completed.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesIndividuals must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Minimum RequirementsMinimum RequirementsA degree or credential appropriate in the field of primary teaching assignment AAS BS or MS depending on the program or a minimum of 24 quarter hours 16 semester hours of credit in the field of the primary teaching assignment.One year of relevant experience working in the field.Demonstrated successful teaching or evidence for the potential for excellence in teaching.Special QualificationsExcellent knowledge of and experience working with MS Office products including Word Excel and PowerPoint.Capability to demonstrate how to modify a Windows environment using correct Settings to create a useful and safe user experience.Knowledge of and experience with key Internet tools including browsers MS Outlook and AI tools.Ability to create a secure Windows environment.Equivalency StatementThe College recognizes the value of skills and knowledge gained outside of formal higher education and paid employment.
