What youll do on a typical day The part-time instructor, College and Career Readiness provides instruction and retention strategies to students in the basic skills program. This position reports directly to the Program Director, College and Career Readiness in the respective campus. Knowledge and willingness to work with special populations is beneficial to this position in addition to the following responsibilities:Coordinate and provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of a diverse population including those with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesTeach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one while promoting student successTeach adult students in a classroom or lab settingInstruct and demonstrate effective teaching methods in an engaging and relevant learning environment including, but not limited to, career exploration and development, contextualized instructional content, and/or transition to curriculum and continuing education pathwaysAssess and monitor students progress, maintain files and assist students in goal setting and attainment. Determine additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques, if needed.
