Hiring Range: $15.75

Description The Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Center is seeking a Part-Time Event Set and Clean team members to provide set-up and clean-up services in support of the events at all venues. Work will include janitorial work and cleaning; collecting and disposing of waste materials; assisting with furniture moves and/or event set-up; assisting with unloading and storing supplies; maintaining cleanliness of work area, tools and equipment; and following safety policies and procedures.

Work Hours: The Part Time Service Worker has a work schedule that varies depending on event schedules. Work will be required on nights, weekends and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Performs janitorial functions such as: • Vacuuming and sweeping • Washing walls, windows, woodwork and counter tops • Polishing and dusting furniture • Cleaning and stocking restrooms • Removing and recycling trash • High and low dusting of ledges • Cleaning loading docks, entry ways, doors, elevators, escalators and stairwells

Sets up facility equipment and furnishings such as: • Tables and table skirting • Chairs • Stages • Risers • Steps • Wall panels • Coat racks • Dance floors and seating platforms in support of events

Tears down facility equipment and furnishings and return all items to appropriate locations, ensuring items are clean and operable for future use, and/or reporting any damage to supervisor

Maintains facility cleanliness and proper equipment set-up during scheduled events

Operates and maintains standard cleaning equipment

Typical Qualifications Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED and one year of maintenance or customer service experience related to assignment OR Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted

Equipment Requirements: Steel toe boots

ADA and Other Requirements: Positions in this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with frequent exposure to hazardous physical conditions (such as mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibration, etc.); frequent exposure to atmospheric conditions (such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.); frequent exposure to hazardous materials (such as chemicals, blood and other body fluids); frequent exposure to environmental conditions (such as disruptive people, imminent danger, or a threatening environment); and moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, movement restrictions, intense noise or travel.
