Position Summary

This position is for a senior‑track officer who can work with minimal supervision in a clinical environment where tone, judgment, and communication matter as much as physical presence.

You will be the steady, professional face of security for staff and patients, using calm conversation, early intervention, and sound decision‑making to keep the clinic operating smoothly.

Success in this role comes from consistent reliability, strong documentation, and the ability to de‑escalate situations without unnecessary attention.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Background in security, military, or law enforcement and a preference for clear expectations and defined standards
  • Even‑keeled, emotionally controlled demeanor with strong situational awareness
  • Comfortable working around patients, families, and clinical staff in a healthcare setting
  • Able to protect privacy and follow confidentiality rules, including HIPAA‑related requirements
  • Works well as part of a team, accepts coaching, and keeps reports and communication accurate and timely
  • Prior hospital or clinic security experience is helpful but not mandatory

Not a Good Fit If You

  • Tend to be loud, confrontational, or quick‑tempered under stress
  • Depend on "command presence," intimidation, or raised voice as your primary tools
  • Resist supervision, feedback, or requirements to document what you do
  • Have inconsistent attendance or limited true availability but present yourself as "flexible"

Key Duties

  • Provide both patrol and fixed‑post coverage according to your post instructions, maintaining a calm, approachable presence at all times
  • Greet and interact with patients, visitors, and staff respectfully; utilize verbal skills and early intervention to prevent escalation
  • Safeguard confidential information and strictly follow clinic and HIPAA privacy rules
  • Complete clear, factual electronic reports each shift, capturing who/what/when/where/how for incidents or notable activity
  • Observe behavior patterns and environmental risks, promptly sharing relevant information with supervision
  • Serve as a standard‑bearer for newer officers when assigned, reinforcing expectations through your example

Performance Standards

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality; you are expected to arrive early and ready to work
  • Professional uniform, grooming, and bearing that reassures rather than intimidates
  • Consistently strong written reports that are specific, accurate, and submitted on time
  • Composed decision‑making under pressure, with de‑escalation as the first option
  • Adherence to all site orders and procedures, and immediate communication when something cannot be followed as written

Required Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
  • Able to pass a background investigation and drug screening
  • Reliable transportation to and from the site
  • Meets at least one experience path:
    • 2+ years military service, or
    • 2+ years law enforcement, or
    • 5+ years security experience, or
    • 1+ year with Signal with documented strength in punctuality, reporting, public interaction, temperament, teamwork, and issue resolution
  • Willing to follow HIPAA and all client confidentiality expectations
  • Able to complete additional classroom or online training in communication, procedures, leadership, and reading body language as assigned
  • Physically able to stand, walk, and patrol for up to 45 minutes at a time and lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prior security experience is required for this classification; candidates with no security background are not considered for this level
