Description

Our practice is expanding and we are looking to add a new Medical Assistant to our team to help both at our clinic and ambulatory surgery center.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Rooming patients and taking vitals.
  • Collecting H&P information.
  • Obtaining consent and assisting in minor procedures and surgeries.
  • Maintaining inventory.
  • Disinfecting and autoclaving instruments.
  • Taking x-rays (will train).
  • Preparing labs and giving results.
  • Cleaning rooms and etc.
  • Greeting patients in a polite, prompt, professional, and helpful manner.
  • Collecting patient co-pay/balances.
  • Answer phones in a pleasant manner and deal with patients' needs promptly.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Update patient demographic and clinical information in our practice management system.
  • Scan insurance cards, IDs, and other medical records into our EMR system.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and keep track of insurance authorizations/referrals.
  • Assists as a surgical technician as needed.
  • Maintain sterility logs and compliance protocols, including instrument sterilization, autoclave maintenance, and spore monitoring.
  • Implements improvements for operating policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining surgery center compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and maintenance of logs for state, CMS, and accrediting board.
  • Order supplies and collaborate with vendors regarding equipment and inventory for cases and the surgical center.
  • Maintains cleanliness of exam/procedure rooms, offices, and restrooms.
  • Assist with surgical setup as well as surgery.

Requirements:
  • The right candidate will have great communication AND multitasking skills. The candidate should be energetic, friendly, a fast learner, and great with patients.
  • Prefers 3 years of medical assistant experience.
  • MUST BE DEPENDABLE.
  • Athena Health experience is a plus.
