POSITION TITLE:

Part-Time Assistant Teacher - Little Oracles Childcare Center

Wage: $14.00 per hour

Hours:

Shift 1: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Shift 2: Monday through Friday, 11:45 AM - 5:15 PM

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Part-Time Assistant Teacher at Little Oracles Childcare Center assists lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. Assistant Teachers support classroom routines, supervise children, and help maintain a positive atmosphere that promotes children's growth and development.

REPORTS TO:

The Part-Time Assistant Teacher reports directly to the Childcare Director.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous childcare or preschool experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with young children and staff
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding children and families
  • Ability to pass required background checks, physical, TB test, and drug screening
  • Meet all state licensing and Paths to Quality requirement

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist lead teachers with classroom activities and daily routines.
  • Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
  • Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive interactions.
  • Assist with meals, snacks, nap time, restroom routines, and playground supervision.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
  • Prepare classroom materials and assist with learning centers and activities.
  • Use positive behavior support strategies and reinforce classroom expectations.
  • Assist with student arrival, departure, and transition routines.
  • Follow all center policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding classroom needs and student concerns.
  • Participate in required trainings and staff meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and program operations.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by administration.
