POSITION: Part-Time Academic Instructor (Electrical Technology)

LOCATION: NDSCS - Fargo, North Dakota - Career Innovation Center

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Part-time, non-benefited position

JOB SUMMARY: The Adjunct Electrical Instructor supports the Career Innovation Center by delivering workforce focused instruction that prepares students for entry level electrical employment or apprenticeship pathways. Instruction emphasizes hands on skill development, safety, and industry standards consistent with real world electrical service and construction environments.

Instructional Delivery:

  • Primarily face-to-face and lab-based instruction

  • Flexible scheduling options, including evenings or short-term instructional blocks

Minimum Requirements

  • Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS

  • Industry experience in residential, commercial, or service-based electrical work

  • Appropriate electrical licensure or credentials relevant to instruction (degree preferred but not required)

  • Ability to support a two-year college mission focused on workforce preparation and student success

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and adult learners

  • Basic proficiency with instructional technology and institutional systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • Experience as a business owner, supervisor, or lead electrician
  • Teaching, training, or mentoring experience
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas)

Additional Information

HOURLY RATE: Current NDSCS adjunct pay rate (calculated per credit taught - $1,099 per credit)
