Description
The City is hiring a Parks Foreman. This position is responsible for assisting the Parks Superintendent in the operation, supervision, and maintenance of the departments work activities, including but not limited to irrigation, grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance, etc. Responsible for supervising small work crews in the care and maintenance of parks and city-owned landscapes and grounds. Works under the direction of and reports to the Grounds Superintendent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of grounds maintenance. Knowledge of occupational hazards, and safety practices and procedures. Skill in the operation of tools, equipment and vehicles. Ability to communicate with City employees and the general public. Ability to use Excel, word, and office.
Education, Certification and Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Two years of verifiable experience in irrigation. Two years' experience in crew management. Valid Kansas Driver's License required or the ability to obtain one. A Kansas Class B CDL driver's license is preferred.

Environment:
Work is performed in all types of weather. Majority of work is performed outdoors, i.e. moderate to extreme cold and heat, snow, rain, hail, sleet, high and gusting winds, dust, and dry conditions. Ability to perform physical work activities in various weather conditions.
Surfaces: Includes, but not limited to dirt, sand, gravel, concrete, asphalt, grass, and wood.
Equipment/Tools Used:
Equipment: Includes, but not limited to, pickups, dump trucks, skid loaders, backhoes, and trenchers.
Tools: Includes, but not limited to handheld, power, and air tools.
Physical Characteristics:
Includes, but not limited to, bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, hold, stand, walk, jump, sit, drive, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds and frequently carrying objects weighing 75-100 pounds.
