Applications are being accepted for the position of Park Maintenance Worker part-time hourly with the City of South San Francisco. This is a non-benefited part-time hourly position.

Hourly Rate: 35.88 - 43.61 per hour Schedule: 30 hours per week including both weekdays and weekends, select holidays, and evenings.
THE DEPARTMENT
The Parks and Recreation Department is the third largest department in the City and is organized by program area with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. The department is comprised of the Recreation, Community Services, Parks, Facilities, and Common Greens divisions.
The Parks Division is in charge of planning and maintaining the citys parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and other landscaping. There are approximately 25 parks and play lots, including Sign Hill Park, which has 60 acres of open space, and Centennial Way Linear Park, a 3-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail. Amenities include Centennial Dog Park, bocce ball courts, an above-ground skate park, a variety of ball fields, tennis and basketball courts, picnic shelters, and group picnic areas.
IDEAL CANDIDATE SECTION
The ideal Park Maintenance Worker will be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks while working cooperatively with a variety of people, consistently ensuring excellent customer service. Capable of organizing duties, meeting critical deadlines, and following up on assignments with minimal supervision to maintain parks and public facilities according to established standards. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic techniques, tools, equipment, and materials used in park and landscape maintenance, as well as an understanding of occupational hazards and related safety practices.
