Whitington Services for Children and Families is seeking Paraprofessionals who want to make a difference in the lives of others.


We currently have a full-time employment opportunity to serve parents and children within our community by developing homemaker and effective parenting skills to support healthy family relationships. 


Essential Functions:


The paraprofessional provides services to families and children involved DCS/Probation. Services will be provided in the family’s home, a community site, or in the office (if approved by DCS/Probation), and in the course of assisting with transportation, accompanying the parent(s) during errands necessary to work towards/accomplish goals ex: job search. Services must be compatible with the established DCS/Probation case plan and authorized by the DCS/Probation referral. Paraprofessional staff assist the family through advocating, teaching, demonstrating, monitoring, and/or role modeling new, appropriate skills for coping with the following areas in an effort to build self-sufficiency:


Job Duties:


·         Document and maintain records of clients' progress.
·         Gather information about community resources that could be used in conjunction with other services to support successful parenting and homemaker skills
·         Conduct initial assessments and refer clients to internal or community resources as necessary.
·         Ensure accurate and ethically appropriate billing related to services are provided.
·         Maintain confidentiality of records relating to the client’s treatment.
·         Provide clinical documentation and assure that all filing of clinical information and submission of billing information is done accurately and within the time frame required.
·         Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations and standards, including DCS regulations.


The Paraprofessional is responsible for overseeing:


· Time Management
· Child Development, care of children, child safety and child nutrition
· Health Care
· Community Resourcing
· Transportation that is goal directed and part of approved case plan (i.e. housing search)
· Identifying support systems
· Problem solving
· Family reunification/preservation
· Resource management/budgeting
· Home management
· Parenting Skills
· Housing
Minimum Qualifications:


·         High school diploma or GED
·         At least 21 years of age
·         Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation to transport self and others, and car insurance coverage
·          Ability to maintain confidentiality of all appropriate information.
·         Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, orally and in writing
·         Be able to provide factual feedback to the Department of Child Services/Probation or the courts in person, telehealth and in writing.
·         Ability to meet a family in a non-biased strengths-based format either in the home, community, or office setting. 
·         Ability to develop a goal-oriented plan of treatment 
·         Develop a consistent schedule of interaction 
·         A belief in the family preservation philosophy
·         Have strong verbal and written communication skills
