Position: Paraprofessional, Special Education Clerk
Salary Schedule/Base Hourly Rate (Subject to Change): Support Staff Schedule/$15.33. Additional credit for related years of service and education.
Work Calendar: 10 months
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Benefits: Eligible the first of the month following the date of hire

About the Role
The Paraprofessional Special Education Clerk will support the Special Ed. Team to ensure that the
curriculum and school programs are implemented in a way to maximize student learning experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of special education records.
- Perform various clerical duties such as: assist the special education team in scheduling meetings, evaluations and sending out meeting notices.
- Assist in the gathering, compiling, and uploading required data for the Medicaid billing, Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
- Promote and maintain confidentiality regarding records and documentation.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You Need - High School Diploma or equivalent and a 2-year college degree (AA from an accredited
institution). - Once employed, successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff, students, and the public.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret educational documents.
- Ability to schedule, track, and notice various special education meetings and documents.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms, stand, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, push or pull. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to move about the campus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat or cold and dusty and/or windy conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
