Paraprofessional / Instructional Aide (K–12)
2026–2027 School Year
Location: Glendale Heights, Illinois
Responsibilities
- Provide academic support to students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
- Assist teachers with implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Support students with classroom assignments, projects, and learning goals.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with behavior management and classroom routines.
- Support students with social-emotional development and peer interactions.
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to classroom staff.
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and administrative tasks.
- Provide supervision during transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and administrators to support student success.
- Follow all district policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or paraprofessional certification preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Experience supporting students with special education needs is a plus.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and district onboarding requirements.
