The School District of Whitefish Bay is seeking a Paraprofessional I (Library/Media Center) to start in the 2026-2027 school year. This position is scheduled to work 5.75 hours per day, Monday through Friday, at Cumberland Elementary School. Here at Cumberland, we believe that equity and excellence are possible for our school. Working closely with the Library Media Specialist, applicants should be student-centered and flexible in meeting the needs of our learners through the delivery of lessons and the facilitation of library media services. Prospective candidates should see themselves as a team player and as having a growth mindset in supporting learning with informational and digital tools.

Additional job duties may include:

  • Supervising individuals or classes of students in the Library Media Center or other areas of the building;
  • Maintaining the organization of our library collection;
  • Troubleshooting basic technology issues for students and staff;
  • Creating purchase orders;
  • Supporting computerized assessments;
  • Fostering an inclusive space for children;
  • Organizing volunteers; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Perhaps most importantly, potential candidates should have a love for children and for working collaboratively to serve them.
