Position: School Aged Child Care (Edustaff)

Location: Edmonson Elementary

Date Available: 2026/2027 School Year

Work schedule:3:30-6:00pm.

Pay Rate: $16.00-$17.50 based on education and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma

  • Demonstrated aptitude for the nature of work to be performed
  • Willingness to participate in our staff development program
  • Current child/adult CPR certification in Standard First Aid
  • Must complete and pass a fitness for duty physical
  • Must submit to required background checks including completion of Michigan Childcare License programs
  • Be a positive role model to children and caregiving staff
  • Able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull and carry children up to 70 lbs.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm for working with children; kind, caring, patient, empathetic, creative and flexible
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities:

Includes, not be limited to the following:

  • Under the supervision of the Director and guidance of the Coordinator implements classroom and playground activities, consistent with the Lamphere Learning Ladder curriculum and prepared lesson plans
  • Appropriately supervise children while maintaining a safe and harmonious environment
  • Treat each child with dignity and respect while helping each child be successful
  • Assists with meals, snacks and clean up routines
  • Cares for equipment and maintains a safe environment for children
  • Participates in Lamphere Learning Ladder staff meetings and staff development training programs
  • Establishes a positive relationship with parents
  • Works cooperatively with school and Learning Ladder staff projecting the values of learning ladder at all times
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a quality childcare program as assigned-includes lesson plans, observations, activity preparation, individualized instruction, problem-solving
  • Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
  • Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential.
  • All staff members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward one another at all times.
  • Such alternatives to the above responsibilities as the Director may find appropriate and acceptable.
