Location: Carmel, IN

Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center

Department/Specialty: Cardiac Services

Schedule: PRN Days | 7:00am to 7:30pm | One weekend shift every 6 weeks

How you'll make an impact in this role:

Seeking an energetic, seasoned paramedic with a current Indiana License (Certifications) who is confident in their ACLS skills, enjoys patient care and utilizes excellent communications skills to work in a cardiovascular patient centric emergency room. This person must manage change readily, seek to resolve patient issues, and seeks to improve the outcomes of all patient populations.

  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
  • Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
  • Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
What minimum qualifications you'll need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional requirements you'll need:

This is a PRN position that is not benefited. Due to the nature of our work, we are seeking one who is available to staff one day each week 7a-1930 and committed to the work and training that is required to staff in the department. One weekend shift each 6 weeks and a minor or hard to staff day.
