The Paralegal will provide high-level litigation support to attorneys by performing substantive legal work, managing case files, and contributing to billable tasks that directly impact firm performance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys taking on responsibilities beyond a traditional legal assistant position. The Paralegal will support complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation matters and work closely with attorneys to advance case strategy and ensure accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables.

Salary: $75,000-$85,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, reports, and legal correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and prepare concise summaries of findings
  • Assist attorneys with case strategy development and file analysis
  • Prepare exhibits, chronologies, and document summaries for litigation
  • Support trial preparation, including organizing hearing materials
  • E-file pleadings in state and federal courts
  • Review, organize, and maintain documents related to litigation matters
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and docketing requirements
  • Communicate with courts regarding filings, scheduling, and procedural matters
  • Set up and maintain electronic case files in compliance with firm and client guidelines
  • Reconcile attorney expenses and coordinate with accounting for accurate billing
  • Assist with client reporting and status updates
  • Occasionally coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for attorneys

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree required
  • Paralegal certificate strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a law firm or litigation environment
  • Experience in insurance coverage or defense litigation preferred
  • Ability to independently handle substantive legal tasks
  • Strong understanding of court rules, procedures, and e?filing systems
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
