Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Vacancy for the 2026- 2027 School Year

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Elementary Paraeducator

Description: Work with elementary school children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. Position involves working 1:1, with small groups of students or supporting students within the general education inclusion classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Associates degree or passing of the para test
• Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities
• Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
• Knowledge of special education procedures.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the Elementary School level.
• Experience working with age appropriate students in a school setting.
• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, socially in the school setting
• Assist students with toileting as needed
• Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers
• Ability to collect data consistently
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
