Job Primary Purpose:
Help meet physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom. Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work with children with disabilities
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of general office equipment
Experience:
Experience working with children and may be work in church related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar experience.
Work Schedule: 187 days -- This is .5 Res/Inc Para and .5 Nurse Clinic Aide
Salary: Pay Grade 3/Clerical/Paraprofessional Hiring Schedule
