AVIATION PAINT TECHNICIAN
The Aviation Paint Technician will primarily be responsible for their own assigned prep and paint tasks. They understand the AR Aviation Services work culture, industry knowledge, they are well versed with many carious prep and paint tasks to ensure airworthiness and safe operation within the department.
JOB DUTIES:
- Proficient in paint processes, including surface preparation, priming, and applying topcoats.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during painting operations.
- Have a strong understanding of all tools, equipment, and inspection aids within the paint department.
- Accurately record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance records or electronic systems.
- Complete necessary documentation related to paint operations, including paint mixing ratios, material usage, and surface preparation.
- Repair, modify, replace, or perform routine maintenance on paint booth and sanding room as directed, ensuring safe and timely completion.
- Continuous participation in some classroom training and on-the-job training (OJT) activities, completing necessary forms and reading materials.
- Learn and apply new skills and techniques to enhance performance and contribute to professional development.
- Proficient in manufacturers and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, and specifications to determine appropriate paint application methods.
- Ensure compliance with technical instructions and specifications during paint operations.
- Proficient in maintaining a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
- Follow established procedures for hazardous waste disposal, as applicable.
- Participate in and adhere to the companies approved FAA Drug and Alcohol program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years painting experience.
- Knowledge of standard practices, methods, and use of standard tools and equipment of aeromechanic trade.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Proficient in understanding, reading, and writing English.
- Average technical skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Adherence to safety protocols and ability to work in a safe manner.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under time constraints.
