Scenic Charge/Paint Shop Supervisor
Reports to: Scenic Shop Manager
JOB DESCRIPTIONS/DUTIES
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversees the and manages the day-to-day operations of the HCT Paint Shop & personnel.
- Ensure that scenic elements are given artistic treatment in accordance with design specifications.
- Assist in creating and managing paint timelines and budget estimates in conjunction with production schedules, scenic shop teams, assignments, and shop space requirements.
- Participate as a collaborative member of the build staff specializing in scenic artistry.
- Ensures that all Paint Shop tools and paint inventory are in good working order.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the Shop Manager in an efficient and timely manner.
- Assist other shop departments as needed, including other Production Departments with Load In/Out.
- Maintaining a safe working environment at all times by adhering to Hale Centre Theatre policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe & clean work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- An ability to lead a team.
- Must be able to demonstrate an advanced working knowledge of scenic painting techniques, and application methods.
- Extensive knowledge of Texturing techniques.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Must be competent in reading detailed paint elevation drawings.
- Must be able to work weekdays and occasional weekends.
- Must be capable of working independently.
- Experience with scissor lifts.
- Experience with basic projection technology for paint layout.
- Experience with Vectorworks is preferred.
- Possess a strong desire to hone existing skills and a willingness to learn new ones.
- Be highly resourceful and possess efficient problem solving and time management skills.
- Successful candidates are required to pass a background and drug screening prior to beginning work.
