    Description

    Specify, design, implement, and track the improvement of robot path programming and optimization of manipulator, applicator, and fluid delivery process.

    Responsible for ensuring the paint process setup instructions at current revision levels and correct.

    Coordination of trial runs and quality improvement for the paint process. Coordinate work with Maintenance and Production.

    Implement cost-reduction improvements for both new and existing equipment/processes.

    Technical support to all Production and Engineering operations for improvement programs.

    Working knowledge of paint department processes and principles, including latest technologies.

    General knowledge of production control / scheduling systems. Blueprint reading skills, working knowledge of statistical analysis.

    Knowledge of ISO 14001, TS 16949 requirements

    Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, basic knowledge of PLC programming.

    Strong knowledge of paint application process. Basic knowledge of machining / tooling; and electrical / schematics.

    Qualifications

    • Language Skills- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    • Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    • Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    • Computer Skills- Competence in personal computer Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, e-mail) and familiar with other database related software.

    Experience

    At least two years of related experience in paint shop and production floor environment. Allen Bradley PLC, Studio 5000, and paint shop pre - treatment process. Fanuc P-250 experience and Modicon PLC experience a plus.

    Education

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field preferred

    Working Conditions

    Will be required to work within the plant - factory environment where there is some exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass, and heat. Must adhere to PPE requirements as defined in the safety manual when in the manufacturing area.
