Job Details

Assessment and Evaluation: A pain management clinic Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) conducts thorough patient assessments to diagnose the source and severity of pain, which may involve reviewing medical history and performing physical examinations.

Treatment Planning: They develop individualized pain management plans, which can include medication management, physical therapy, and lifestyle recommendations to alleviate chronic pain and improve patients' quality of life.

Injection Procedures: NP/PAs are trained to administer various types of injections, such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, and trigger point injections, as part of pain management procedures to reduce inflammation and relieve pain.

Medication Management: They prescribe and monitor pain medications, adjusting dosages and medications as needed to optimize pain relief while minimizing potential side effects and risks.

Patient Education and Support: NP/PAs educate patients about their conditions and pain management strategies, offering guidance on self-care, exercise, and psychological coping techniques to help patients achieve better pain control and overall well-being.

Requirements:

State license or eligible to be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
