FULL DESCRIPTIONThe primary responsibility of this position is to carry out Product Packaging per Packaging Process Sheet. Personnel responsible for this operation shall obtain required operational and GMP training prior to initial assignment. All training shall be provided through the department manager and/or Quality Assurance department. Qualifications also require an ability to lift 50 pounds of weight and good overall health. Other responsibilities of this position include assisting in general facility maintenance and production needs as required.
    
The selected candidate will be responsible for:    
General Requirements:
  • Follows cGMP including health and hygiene practices.
  • Review the packaging schedule for the day. Package product in the order that they are listed on the packaging schedule. This task is typically performed in a group or requires a team approach. Keep track of time against what the production schedule calls for. Notify area supervisor or Packaging Manager if there is any problem in meeting the schedule.
  • Locate the product that is to be packaged and review the packaging process sheet for instructions on packaging, labeling, packaging components, and printing instructions on cartons.
  • Do not mix different products on the same pallet.
  • Notify your manager immediately if you encounter any problems.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. Fill out all information called for by the Packaging Process Sheet. Product must be kept separated from direct contact with floor by use of pallets, dollies, and stands.
Filling Line:
  • Collect the packaging components (bottles, caps, desiccants, etc.) called for by the Packaging Process Sheet.
  • Verify that the machine that you are on is clean (free of foreign objects) and ready for use.
  • Set the filling machine to fill the bottles (or other containers as called for by the process sheet) for the fill amount as specified on the process sheet. Do not proceed until QA approves to start the packaging run.
  • Place a fully completed label tag or imprint correct case identification on all boxes of product you are filling.
  • Verify at least every 30 minutes, the correct label position, lot #, expiration date, and any other information (customer and product names, fill size) that is to be verified as called for by the packaging process sheet.
Labeling Line:
  • Collect the bulk product you are scheduled to label along with the label celons and master boxes to be used.
  • Verify that the labeling machine you will use is clean and ready for use.
  • Set the lot number, code number, and expiration date as called for by the process sheet and have Packaging Manager and/or the QC representative verify the accuracy of information.
  • Label FIVE (5) containers only and present it to your manager and the QC representative for their approval.
  • Stencil or imprint the boxes (if applicable) to be used in packaging the product. Have the Packaging Manager and/or the QC representative to verify the accuracy of the stencil or imprint before stenciling all the boxes. Do not proceed until QA approved  to start with labeling
  • Continuously verify that the label is on straight , right side up, is on the correct bottle, indicates the correct lot # and expiration date, its celon is secure, etc.

The selected candidate will also possess:  
Education Requirements
  • Understanding and knowledge of various manufacturing operations and cGMP is required.
  • Possesses good communication skills and should be able to provide job related training to new production personnel.
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires standing/walking ¬¬¬85%-95% of the day, roughly 1 to 7.5 hours.
  • Lifting, no more than 50 lbs.
  • Sitting stationary roughly 0%-5% of the day, with focus on computer tasks.
  • Some slight bending/maneuvering.
