Job Title: Packaging Mechanic I
Location: Monmouth Junction, NJ
Hours / Schedule: 2nd Shift | Mon–Thurs, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Type: Temp - Perm
Compensation: up to $40 per hour (pending experience)
Overview
The Packaging Mechanic I supports the Packaging Department by maintaining and repairing packaging equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, line changeovers / startups, equipment upgrades, and root cause analysis to ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and FDA requirements. Must have strong electronics / PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) background with strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose!
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on packaging equipment (fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.)
Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement activities
Execute line changeovers and startups
Support QA and Operations during packaging runs
Ensure safe equipment operation at all times
Requirements
High school / GED
Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical / Biotech packaging mechanic experience
Strong electrical background
Hands-on experience with fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.
Must pass pre-employment and physical
Proficient in manufacturing procedures, FDA regulations, cGMPs, SOPs
Ability to read/interpreting safety, maintenance, and procedure manuals
Basic PC skills
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred Requirements
Trade school or technical certification
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50lb
Stand for extended periods
Use of PPE as required
