ABR is recruiting Packagers/General Labors for a premiere client in Antigo, WI
Hours are:
1st shift - 4:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. , 2-2-3 rotating schedule
2nd shift, 4:00 p.m. - 4:00 a.m., 2-2-3 rotating schedule

Wage is $18.50 per hour for 1st shift and $21.00 per hour for 2nd shift.

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for all aspects of green packaging, including the inspection, packaging, and tracking of cheese products. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation standards while operating packaging equipment and maintaining accurate records of inventory and product movement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Inspect cheese and packaging material for mold, dirt, or foreign substances, ensuring product quality.
  • Maintain an accurate count of cracked wheels and complete required documentation for damaged products.
  • Place cheese wheels on bagging racks and transfer belts for packaging.
  • Perform lot number tracking by vat and ensure proper documentation for traceability.
  • Conduct metal detector performance checks throughout the shift, recording results as required.
  • Inspect pallets for proper palletizing of cheese based on type and packaging specifications.
  • Operate vacuum sealing and stretch wrap equipment using the correct settings for packaging, ensuring proper seals and wraps.
  • Track inventory using a data collection device, scanning lot tags for accuracy.
  • Generate and apply accurate labels for pallet tracking, ensuring proper identification of products.
  • Transfer and stage product into assigned storage coolers and processing areas using walk-behind and rider forklifts.
  • Inspect racks and boards for damages and ensure proper sanitation using approved chemical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, including HACCP and GMP regulations.
  • Report any food safety or quality issues to management or authorized personnel immediately.
  • Maybe asked to support and/or fill in for Packaging and Shipping at times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • 18 years old, required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalency is preferred.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-based software.
  • Fundamental math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, particularly in units of weight measurement and counting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
  • Capable of maintaining legible and accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
