Responsibilities

As a Pacemaker Technician, you will be part of the overall healthcare team responsible for Cardiology-related services. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing evaluation and device management to patients under the supervision of a physician
  • Educating patients and families regarding device function, clinic follow-up scheduling, and device home monitoring
  • Ensuring correct billing and coding of device checks
  • Identifying opportunities for enhanced workflow in the clinics in collaboration with management
  • Assisting with wound checks following implants
  • Assisting the physician and other healthcare professionals in related technical areas as needed
  • Functions without supervision and may coordinate others as applicable

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED)
  • Cardiology Arrhythmia Certification listed below and 3 years of healthcare or 1 year of Cardiology OR
  • Cardiology Arrhythmia Certification listed below and graduation from an approved technical school specializing in implanted devices and/or arrhythmia
  • RN license and 5 years of implanted cardiac device experience

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with programmers from major device companies and utilizing remote monitoring sites from major device companies
  • Highly Preferred Certifications: • CRAT Certification • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (RCES) • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (CCDS) • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) • Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS)
