Position Summary:
The South College Orlando Physician Assistant Program invites applications for a full-time principal faculty position with a primary focus on the clinical phase of the curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, student-focused program committed to developing practice-ready graduates who can serve diverse patient populations.
The successful candidate will support the Director of Clinical Education in multiple aspects of the clinical phase, including site development, student assessment, and course coordination. In addition to these responsibilities, all principal faculty may be called upon to support the didactic phase as needed to meet programmatic goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Instruct and evaluate students during the clinical phase
Serve as Course Director or Co-Director as assigned
Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Education in clinical site and preceptor recruitment, development, and maintenance
Conduct clinical site evaluations (virtual and/or in person)
Monitor and track clinical phase student progress
Review student performance evaluations
Ensure timely completion of required clinical phase documentation
Facilitate end-of-rotation callback days, including assessment activities and remediation planning as indicated
Contribute to clinical phase assessment processes
Track and maintain grade documentation for courses as assigned
Mentor and advise students
Participate in departmental and college-level committees as assigned
Participate in scholarly and professional development activities; maintain CME requirements
Contribute to ongoing Self-Study and accreditation activities
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the clinical curriculum to ensure alignment with the Programs mission, goals, and objectives and compliance with accreditation standards
Support student laboratory and assessment activities
Participate in faculty meetings, student advising, remediation, and admissions processes
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with clinical site and preceptor recruitment
Clinical experience in one or more of the following core rotation specialties: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine
Prior experience in PA education or clinical teaching
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Commitment to student-centered education and a team-based work environment
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program
Current NCCPA certification
Eligible for licensure in Florida
Minimum of 3 years of teaching or clinical experience
