Position: Physical Therapist Assistant - Geriatric

Salary Range: $28-$34 per hour, 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday with weekend rotation.

Job Description:

This client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physical Therapist Assistant to join its team and provide specialized care to its geriatric patients. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with our team of physical therapists to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to our elderly patients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for geriatric patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

- Perform therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and range of motion.

- Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation to relieve pain and promote healing.

- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for performing exercises and activities at home.

- Monitor patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatment and progress.

- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice.

Qualifications:

- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

- Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with geriatric patients.

- Strong knowledge of geriatric conditions and treatment techniques.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong time management and organizational skills.
