The Property & Casualty Insurance Claims Specialist provides timely, effective support to clients and third parties throughout the claims reporting and settlement process. This role also serves as a liaison between the agency and insurance carriers and supports internal staff with claim-related service needs.
Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities
Claims Intake and Client Service
Report loss information to the appropriate insurance company on the same day it is received.
Provide prompt, courteous same-day service to all clients, and advise insureds and claimants on the process required for loss settlement.
Respond to customer inquiries about claim status within 24 hours.
Coordinate activities between clients and claims adjusters as needed.
Extend courtesy and assistance to third parties reporting claims or providing claim information.
Claim Monitoring and Communication
Follow up with insurance companies to support the timely and accurate settlement of losses.
Follow up with carriers regularly regarding reserves and closing amounts.
Notify producers and/or management of severe losses or reserves over $20,000, and provide quarterly updates for clients with severe and/or frequent losses.
Notify CSRs and/or producers of the destruction or loss of an insured risk.
Respond to carrier claims personnel promptly and professionally, providing any requested action or information within 24 hours.
Documentation and Reporting
Authorize claim payments within agency authority.
Prepare regular claim reports for management.
Oversee maintenance of loss history, including recording payments and claim closures.
Prepare workers compensation and automobile claim kits or claim forms when required.
Document all material conversations with insureds and/or carriers regarding exposures and coverages.
Compliance and Additional Support
Follow all systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations.
Maintain knowledge of claims reporting processes and develop relationships with claims managers and supervisors for all represented carriers.
Immediately forward summonses, lawsuits, and other legal notices to the appropriate company personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

All licenses required by the Ohio Department of Insurance is not necessary but will be required to obtain after hired
