The role at a glance
- Type: 12‑month, 1099 contract
- Pay: $50–$52/hour
- Housing: $500 weekly allowance if you live 75+ miles from site
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8–10 hours/day
- Location: Onsite in Ashburn, VA
- Start: Immediate
What you will do
- Represent the Owner/Client on site; collaborate with the GC and subs to drive proactive H&S practices.
- Lead daily planning (JHAs/JSAs, method statements), audits, and verifications for electrical/high‑voltage work.
- Conduct incident investigations with root cause analysis and follow through on corrective actions.
- Ensure alignment with ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 and applicable regional regulations.
- Produce concise daily documentation and submit weekly timesheets using digital tools.
- Champion a culture of coaching over policing—build credibility on the deck and in the data hall.
Must‑have qualifications
- Mission‑critical/data center experience.
- EITHER 7+ years in data center safety OR 10+ years in construction safety if you lack data center experience or a degree.
- Strong communication skills with both the Owner/Client and Project GC.
- Fluency in the local language and proficiency in English.
Preferred credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety.
- High‑voltage experience; NFPA 70E knowledge.
- OSHA 500/510; BCSP CHST.
- Proficiency with ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001 frameworks.
- Demonstrated expertise in hazard/risk assessment, safe work method statements, and post‑incident RCA.
- Comfort with technology for daily paperwork and weekly timesheets.
