Job Summary: As an Own Brand Manager, you'll define and develop brand strategies within your business areas, manage new product development, create launch plans, and oversee product lifecycle (marketing) of products.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Strategy / Management:
Collaboratively develops Own Brand (OB) strategies; promotes brand growth and expansion via brand plans; uses various data to drive volume and profitability
Develops / makes recommendations on business 3-5 year plans grounded in consumer insights, financial data
Assesses financial health / performance of the business area; provides recommendations
Perfects business analyses / synthesizes insights and data to fuel innovative ideas and deliver on strategic objectives; gains alignment on / leads those initiatives
Determines goals and objectives of OB branding strategies; defines design strategy; provides guidelines for OB package design and marketing materials
Ensures integrity of product development process
Collaboratively executes creation / maintenance of brand presence across our digital channels
Leads a department initiative / participates in a corporate initiative / growth play
Project Management:
Leads product lifecycle from start to finish; manages product development projects through development and validation processes to maximize speed to market with accuracy
Collaboratively defines project scope; creates long- / short-term plans; sets targets for milestones; adheres to deadlines; motivates stakeholders to manage timelines; allocates resources; problem-solves to address delays, emergencies, and other issues
Manages multiple, concurrent projects in various development phases; meets / exceeds budget and scheduling goals
Engages with Legal to implement risk assessment, trademarks, OB agreements, licensing, trade dress, etc.
Submits design brief; reviews / approves all packaging design and label artwork
Engages with Customer Insight Center (CIC) to ensure customer needs and expectations are met
Hosts project meetings at least once a week / bi-weekly with team and managers; coordinates with vendors / suppliers as needed
Manages business / data integrity for assigned businesses
Participates in quality assurance (QA) process
Coaching / Training:
Serves as a subject matter expert for branding questions / coaching
Coaches / trains with direct guidance from leadership

Qualifications & Key Requirements:
Work Experience:
5+ years of industry experience
Extensive experience in brand and project management
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in MS Office
Advanced project management and time-management skills
Advanced communication skills
Advanced facilitation skills
Ability to manage / shift focus between multiple, concurrent priorities and projects while staying flexible and cool under pressure; attention to detail -
Ability to successfully work through complex issues
Education: A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
